The legislative body is not the third branch of gov't; the legislative impeachment purpose is to immediately remove eminent danger from the office of power in the gov't to stop or remove the harm (say to stop a Liar president from ordering and setting off nuclear bombs against states that did not vote for butthole). Once removed from office and the Liar is now a plain old civilian, then regardless of his impeachment status, the Liar can be prosecuted for crimes he had committed while he was in office. Double jeopardy resides, for this purpose, in the judicial branch of the USA gov't, not the legislative, nor the executive.
