Tasers are only meant to be used in cases of imminent danger…not for compliance or punishment.
This is according to the departmental policies of almost every law enforcement agency in the country. Yet, we see videos of cops using tasers for compliance, and threatening to use them even more often, almost regularly. At what point do they face accountability to even the department policies that they blatantly and openly violate as a matter of training and routine?!
Taser uses of force and ID demands are the 2 biggest problem areas in policing…they simply refuse to get it right and follow the law.
