Another question I wish was addressed, especially by the SC judges themselves, is the consequences of a rejection of the Colorado decision on the public perception of the SC and the public's trust in any past and future SC decision. If the SC cannot even apply the exceedingly plain text of the 14th amendment, why should anybody abide by any other decision of theirs? Would the constitution even still matter at all if you can just ignore any part of it you feel reluctant to follow? Everybody seems to worry so much about the reaction of MAGA lunatics if Trump's disqualification stands. But what about the reaction from the way more numerous constitution-supporting citizens if the plain text of the 14th amendment was to be ignored by the SC itself? The SC would FOREVER loose any legitimacy.

Great episode, Jessica and Jason. Surely, the oath taken by the Supreme Court to uphold the constitution means judges must rule against unconstitutional Trump being on the ballot. If they do not, they appear to be ceding their power and responsibility, further playing into the hands of dark forces while making a mockery of the oath and the constitution. I hope they do their job as they promised to do it.

Jason. You're arguing the 14th amendment. Doesn't that say that natural born and naturalized citizens must be treated equally and therefore can run and serve as President? Murray's argument crumbled immediately. Whether or not Trump's actions constitute an insurrection is debatable. He lost the election, some of his supporters were angered and rioted for one day, and then he left office. Rest is freedom of speech..
