This is just horrible journalism. The president was not impeached. Impeachment was initiated by congress but he was exonerated at trial therefore he was not impeached

It shouldn't be rocket science that an appointed judge on the SC can't return favors to whoever apponited him or her by their rulings as supreme court justices. But it also goes that if a SC judge rules trump has immunity, then the opposition can't go off automatically claiming that judge is returning favors rather than ruling fair and just. Doing that, neglecting to analyse the argumentation and be honest to whatever conclusion the analysis comes up with simply because it caters to the oppositional viewpoint is, well, deplorable.
We have to insist on our informed democracy. If in no way other possible, then insisting on it by way of how we treat the opposition no matter if they do not treat you the same. Especially if the opposition do not.
I would read the relevant Constitution clause slightly differently. I read it as the President can be indicted at any time (in office or out, practical problems with that aside) but that the limit of Congress' power is removal of the President from office.

This isn't even a valid consideration. A crime is a crime. No one is above or immune to the law.
Holding an office isn't blanket immunity from our laws.

I like to think all elected positions are one of service and the holder is beholden to us, the electorate.

Most notably, when their confirmation hearings were being conducted, they ALL agreed that Roe v Wade was the law of the land; well, we all know what they did with Roe v Wade- they flushed down the toilet.
