I am at a loss as to why no charge of insurrection as per 18 U.S. Code § 2383 "the insurrection statute" has been brought against Trump. I have not been able to find an answer to this anywhere. Any ideas?

Better solution: stop using unwilling amateurs to decide legal questions, which can sometimes involve the death penalty. Only professionally qualified and certified judges should be trying legal cases. No jury. And then devise mandatory punishments for contempt of court.
