It is very hard to believe that the founders of this great country would not put in a provision that would stop anyone trying to overthrow it could run for public office.
What ever interpretation some of these people are coming up with seem against common sense.
Now I realize that it is hard to know what is on the mind of someone a hundred years ago but, surely they would not allow a person or persons to destroy their creation.

I do not understand 1 key point. Why is Trump appealing? He does NOT want this to go to SCOTUS. If SCOTUS is forced to take this up (for the chaos reasons the judges brought up in questioning), and decides against Trump, he could be off the ballot in EVERY state; he was not winning in Colorado in any event. The worst for the plaintiffs would be winning the disqualification part of this case, and Trump losing over the insurrection portion, but not appealing to SCOTUS. The plaintiffs could not appeal to SCOTUS, since they won, and Trump should not appeal, since he is getting lousy pot odds; one unwinnable state if SCOTUS backs him, and off the ballot in many other states if they do not.

I think CBS and other news turns down audio on some cast and UP on others. Same reasons commercials are louder than the baseline show.

Thank God Trump has enough heart to keep fighting for us. Even for the people too stupid to understand he is the only thing keeping us from losing our freedom and this whole damn country.

If he never accepted the oath, he was never president. Expunge anything he did while trespassing in the White House. Let him walk. Video evidence shows differently …unfortunately.

It was an oversight by the drafters. When the drafters passed 14C3, they assumed that anyone who would want to run for President was a former lawmaker, military, governor, etc. who had previously taken the oath to support the Constitution therefore felt is not necessary to include the Presidental Oath as well in 14C3. Trump was never a lawmaker, military, governor, etc and he took only one oath, The Presidential Oath, which is not cited in the 14C3, which uses different wording. The drafters unwillingly gave Trump an exemption to 14C3.

Trump was an OUTSIDER who had not previously held any existing office. That's why 14C3 would apply to everyone except Trump (Or any OUTSIDER for that matter.) The drafters apparently didn't account for that. That explains the apparent "absurdity" regarding 14C3.

The constitution is the rules of a democracy so someone who is vocally stating he wants to turn it into a autocracy immediately disqualifies themselves from leadership. Especially the presidency.

It is beyond comprehension that the founding fathers and first presidents would have called the election as stolen and tried to stay in office. The president who incited the riots and gathered people to go to the capital to prevent the votes from being accepted was a traitor. Whether it was Presidents Adams, Jeffferson, Madison, Monroe (founding fathers) or Trump, he would have been arrested, tried and might have seen a firing squad. Would Jefferson Davis been allowed to run for President?

Why would any sane voter want Trump back in office when Trump tried to overthrow the government? Trump is NOT qualified to serve as president ever! Lock him up!

BY DEFINITION TRUMP IS THE CEO OF THE UNITED STATES. meaning he is the cheif excutive enforcement officer of the office of power of the united states.

The President is both the head of state and head of government of the United States of America, and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces. Under Article II of the Constitution, the President is responsible for the execution and enforcement of the laws created by Congress.

The president is the chief enforcer and executive officer who holds the office of power of the USA. in otherwords, he is an officer of the power of the united state. A President is the CEO of the USA. TRUMP IS AN OFFICER BY DEFINITION.

Trump took the oath to our constitution. He violated that oath. He is a traitor. He is not qualified to be in any office. A legal issue that the Colorado court used was the nonsensical ruling that trump was NOT an officer. He was commander in chief, top officer of military.
