I know, America is divided on gun rights. To those who are against guns, know that just as many disagree with you passionately as there are who passionately agree with you. And most that disagree are not criminals. Only law-abiding citizens are going to get hurt by this, criminals will keep criminaling. You're stripping away those who genuinely keep firearms for self-defense and hunting the right to do so. Illinois already has the strictest gun laws in the country, firearm related homicides and crimes continues to rise. Do you think a ban on rifles will stop them?
I pray the day never comes when you have to ask yourself "why can't anyone with a gun be here right now?" Yes, "good guys with a gun" is a lot more common than you think, Google articles of it, it happens way more than the media narrative lets on. There are every day citizens with families, with friends, who are willing to put their life on the line for *YOU*, a stranger to them. Do not take that away.
If you take your emotion out of it, forget about the soapboxing done by politicians with every school shooting, forget about the fearmongering from the media, you have to see that (from your perspective) pushing back on gun bans is the lesser of two evils (again, from your perspective). Even every day criminals are becoming more violent from protesting to the looting in Chicago and California. I beg you, fight back on this.

A gun registry is illegal at the federal level. Therefore this is an illegal action that the state of Illinois is trying to do. All the state legislators that are involved in this should be arrested!
