That part of Florida has bobcat, coyote, likely panther and bear. We see coyotes within a block of our house during all hours of the day. They can jump a 6-foot fence and we aren't allowed to have anything higher than that in our city. The 4-year-old would never be safe outside alone even in her fenced in area. It is too wooded and easy for coyote to hide, and the fence doesn't appear to even be that tall. You made my mother bust out laughing when you talked about the whispering roosters.
They used to land a helicopter on the schoolhouse property if a car accident was nearby. It happened once during a live stream. The county has since built their own helipad a relatively short distance away.

A few years back I got surrounded by two coyotes in the middle of the northwest side of Chicago, in my fkn gangway. So frightening and I screamed and waved them off by elevating my bags around like a crazy lady. My basement neighbor came out and heard me screaming. Thank God nothing happened.
