I've been held at gunpoint and then stabbed to face with a knife. The only thing I regret is I've born in Finland. We do not have the right to defend ourselves with a weapon. Sometimes not at all. We don't have right to buy a gun without "valid" reason and a permit from the government and the police. Getting the license is insanely hard. Had I a gun, probably I wouldn't have been stabbed.
So what this draconian gun policy has achieved is that mainly the criminals have guns. Yes, some Finns have gun for hunting but even a relatively small mistake can end up losing the license and the gun. One such mistake can be defending your life under a criminal attack.
We have given the honor and privilege to sit on this committee and your seats, because WE allow you to, with our votes. You have the outright audacity to have an entire hearing on empowering WOMEN with guns! Imagine for just one minute if we were to have a committee about empowering MEN with GUNS. The NRA has done a bang up job in recruiting women who have been mentally and physically abused.. The NRA gives millions upon millions to the congress ..This is unconscionable.. If women want to be empowered, then the police and court system need to step up immediately..I was physically and mentally abused , If there had been a gun close, i probably would be dead..
