The reason why we have tap danced around the issue is slightly understandable. It was the first time a President involved themselves in such conduct. However the fact remains. Trump tried to overturn elections outside the legal framework. What he did, HE DID. All mechanics of are normally sorted out later in trial. Any other criminal act by any US citizen would have been incarcerated pending trial. Any citizen! You name the infraction, the system is the same. With no concern about future commitments, family deaths, social status, or even election dates. It's not being hard, it's simply the law. You have upcoming commitments sir, I'm sorry. Jeffrey Goldberg and many, many others in America and around the world must have to pinch themselves at times and ask themselves if they are in a bad dream, because when they step back and see a former American President acting like what one could say is an underworld figure—a mob boss—someone who comes across as maybe not unAMERICAN, but so far in the extremes of democracy that he could be from a country with a one party system. We all know Trump will be in political and legal quicksand that will engulf himself and his ardent supporters and that he won't come close to being America's next president, but it is staggering to believe that these sorts of videocasts and discussions are actually coming out of the land of Lincoln.
