Right Judge, Right decision, Right DA. Georgia Legislature hearing disclosed Merchant’s client was offered a plea deal which would have gotten him out of this mess but she refused it. Now he’s stuck with attorney fees, trial and possible jail time.

He has to carefully craft his judgement. 2 weeks seems reasonable. Not sure which way he’ll go, but I’m shocked the defense counsel didn’t clearly remind the judge that Circumstantial evidence is important and credible. Where there’s smoke there’s fire!
Also disappointed defense is primarily relying on proving the relationship before the appointment. It is just as relevant after appointment because then he’s not “special” or independent. What if he finds exculpatory evidence? He’s not going to want to disappoint his gravy train Girlfriend so he’s more apt to prosecute regardless of where the evidence leads. If he were to drop charges because he thinks the evidence is not there, and she therefore faces political backlash, isn’t that a conflict? If she doesn’t prosecute him, won’t she jeopardize the CNN/MSNBC Democratic gravy train post-DA career?
Too many conflicts across the board to have local DAs going after an exPres on such shaky grounds.
Circumstantial evidence against Fani is massive in this case, and all points to her bias and improper persecution. Coincidentally met with the white house several times, sure this isn’t being steered from DC/DNC. Again, conflicts abound just like corrupt DOJ. All for election interference.
Presidents should not face State/Local Charges; only Federal if their actions are so egregious! Otherwise you can have every state/local prosecutor charging presidents and political opponents at every turn. This is a classic example of what is making our justice system into a Banana Republic!

The only thing diversity, equity and inclusion has done is grant positions of untouchable power to those who have no respect for our law because their very success was based solely on qualities they were born with and never earned and/or political reasons. DEI destroys our merit based system that only survives with education, experience, hard work, honesty and integrity. These qualities are absent in promotees whose only qualification is abusing the system for their own benefit and alliances. This breeds growing corruption in government especially by rewarding self-interest and disregard for the law over the good for society and respect for law. Criminals become heroes, and heroes become criminals, which is this case and it’s origin in a nutshell.
