The weaponization of the national security state against ordinary citizens for reasons of political repression/intimidation is common in formerly free countries that are in the process of transitioning into police states.
Go read Naomi Wolf's book, the end of America, it talks quite extensively about this.
I'm not sure if she did it for the awareness in mail voters fraud. Probably did it for that reason but then again trying to spin it to avoid prosecution. She could have protected herself by asking the advice of a lawyer. Regarding those people who prosecuted her without addressing the fraud didn't care and might have actually embraced the result of that fraud. It could be a warning to those whistle blower that there could be consequences for their actions.
